Delete your account
Last updated 31 August 2026
Deletion is permanent, takes effect immediately, and does not require the app.
You can delete your STILL account at any time, and you do not need to install or open the app to start it. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
In the app
Open You, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete my account. It takes effect immediately.
Without the app
Email privacy@still.dating from the address on your account with the subject line “Delete my account”. We verify ownership of that email address or your verified phone number before acting, then complete the deletion and confirm by email — normally within 7 days and always within 30.
What happens immediately
- You stop appearing in discovery and introductions, and no new Vibes can be sent to or from you.
- Every active Vibe ends and every open Connection is closed.
- Your photos are deleted from storage, and any outstanding links to them stop working.
- Your private record — date of birth, phone number and coordinates — is deleted.
- Your profile is anonymised: your display name, headline, about text and area label are cleared.
What we keep, and for how long
- An anonymised account marker, so a removed or banned account cannot simply be re-created.
- Safety records — reports, blocks and moderation decisions — for up to three years, so we can keep protecting the people involved.
- Records we are legally required to keep for tax, accounting or dispute purposes, for the period the law requires.
- Encrypted backups, which age out on our normal backup cycle of 30 days.
Pausing instead
If you only want to step away, you can pause your account from your profile instead. A paused account is hidden from discovery and introductions but keeps your profile and Connections, and you can return whenever you want.
Subscriptions
Deleting your STILL account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription bought through an app store or payment provider. Cancel it there as well to stop future billing.
